Benefits of Joining GPSIA

 

The GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA) welcomes prospective member companies who wish to help protect, promote and further enhance GPS, GNSS and complementary space-based PNT systems and their receivers and devices. You’ll join other members already receiving these benefits:

  • Advocacy: GPSIA actively promotes GPS, complementary space-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems, receivers, devices; associated components and applications; and its Member companies and affiliate organizations. 

 

  • Member Events: Representatives are invited to participate in exclusive GPSIA-organized events and take advantage of events organized by GPSIA’s network.

 

  • Global Navigation Satellite Systems Insights: On the global stage, GPSIA’s extensive experience in working with government policy making, international regulatory, and industry bodies of satellite providers such as Europe’s Galileo system, Japan’s QZSS, and others brings unique insights to member companies.
     

  • Inter-Member, Expert Level Information Exchanges:

 

  • Monthly Executive Committee: Review GPSIA business (membership, budget, by-laws) and resolve significant issues from other committee meetings. 

  • Technical Team Working Group: A biweekly discussion about industry standards, international regulatory developments, and common technical challenges. 

  • Legislative and Regulatory Updates: Members, Affiliates, and Friends of GPSIA discuss on a biweekly basis related developments on Capitol Hill, and with the FCC, NTIA, and other federal agencies involved in regulatory processes.

  • Policy Committee: Develop positions biweekly on spectrum policies and filings; evolving developments in GPS, GNSS, and other space-based PNT-related topics; and public statements issued by GPSIA on key issues.
     

  • Domestic and International Representation: GPSIA represents Member companies before governmental and non-governmental bodies:

 

  • On Capitol Hill and before U.S. independent, regulatory, and other federal agencies: Member representatives are invited and encouraged participate.

  • ITU and World Radiocommunication Conference Committees and Working Groups: U.S. Working Party 4C; U.S. Working Party 7C; WRC Informal Working Group – 4, FCC’s WRC Advisory Committee (WAC) - 27

  • The European Telecommunications Standards Institute’s (ETSI) Technical Committees: ETSI views GPSIA as the GNSS industry representative in Europe. 

  • ETSI TC SES - Satellite Earth Stations and Systems (SES) and the Working Group on Satellite Communications and Navigation

  • ETSI TC ERM – ElectroMagnetic Compatibility and Radio Matters

  • European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations: We are a member of Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) Working Group SE21.

 

  • Weekly “Media Clips”: Members stay up to date on industry developments, policies, technologies, and hot topics with this weekly newsletter.
