GPS Innovation Alliance Announces the

Alliance for Automotive Innovation is Newest Affiliate

Partnership Will Champion Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship

in GPS and Complementary Position, Navigation, and Timing Technologies

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA) announced Alliance for Automotive Innovation as its newest affiliate, bringing together the expertise of two leading associations representing innovative companies at the forefront of producing and deploying cutting-edge positioning and navigation technologies.

“We are excited to welcome the Alliance for Automotive Innovation as the newest affiliate of the GPS Innovation Alliance,” said GPSIA Executive Director Lisa Dyer. “This partnership draws on the strengths of both organizations. Positioning and navigation are critical to today’s automotive industry and the millions of workers and families who depend on vehicles for work, to transport their loved ones, and connect with the world around them. Future positioning and navigation satellite systems operated from low Earth orbit will be key enablers for connected vehicles. We look forward to collaborating closely with the Alliance for Automotive Innovation to optimize today’s – and realize tomorrow’s – technologies for people around the world who rely on personal modes of transportation every day.”

Alliance for Automotive Innovation joins 12 other national organizations in GPSIA’s affiliates program, along with member companies John Deere, Garmin, Trimble, Apple, Lockheed Martin, and TrustPoint. Alliance for Automotive Innovation’s deep expertise in the automotive sector and staunch advocacy for safer, smarter personal transportation technology will further bolster GPSIA’s goal of championing innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship in GPS, GNSS, and complementary space-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies.

“Connected and autonomous vehicles, and cutting-edge driver assistance systems all have something in common: they rely on positioning, navigation and timing technologies to make our roadways safer and driving easier. We’re happy to be part of the GPS Innovation Alliance and ensure that PNT technology continues to transform the driving experience and make its way into more vehicles,” said Alliance for Automotive Innovation president and CEO John Bozzella.
